Toyota is joining the Australian Repco Supercars Championship in 2026 with its GR Supra.

The Japanese manufacturer will field a minimum of four GEN3 GR Supras. Two will be run by Toyota's homologation team partner Walkinshaw Andretti United.

Joining the Supercars Championship extends Toyota's support of Australian motorsports, which already includes its one-make Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia Scholarship Series, GR Cup and the TGRA Rally Team that competes in the Australian Rally Championship.

Toyota Australia has already begun initial design work on the GR Supra racecar with its in-house design team. The GR Supra will use Toyota’s 2UR-GSE all-aluminum, quad-cam V8 which has been featured in a range of performance production cars, as well as the 2019 Dakar-winning HiLux, as its baseline engine.
